Well, I was in a rut, and just needed to purge a bit and do a painting just for me. I am really pleased with this piece, and feel that it is closer to what I want my art to be like. I like the colors and the depth. Not quite there, but closer than my last pieces. This piece was inspired by a childhood memory of building "O'Keefe Castle" with my siblings at the beach. It was really just a huge mound of sand, but we thought it was magnificent.
I am officially in love with paper tape. It did a great job holding the paper smooth through the whole piece. 12 x 12 watercolor with colored pencil on hot press. |
